PAWNA LAKE CAMP:
Pawna lake is the most attractive camping site in Lonavala. It is around 110km from Mumbai through Lonavala and 58km from the city of Pune. It is one of the best camping sites that you can enjoy near Mumbai. It is near Thakursai village. The lakeside is very enchanting while looking at the shades of red and orange in the evening sky.

The camping site provides many activities like sightseeing, horse riding, trekking,paragliding, boating etc. Visitors can plan a two days visit to the campsite to relish everything. Tents,food, and other necessities are available for comfortable camping. You can check in the morning and spend the night.
During the stay, you can fully enjoy the places like Lohagad fort, Della adventure park, Narayani Dham temple, Visapur fort, Bhaja caves, Tikona fort, Lion’s point, tung fort, Ekvira Devi Temple, Wet N joy water park etc.
HOW TO REACH:
As Lonavala is a very popular weekend place in Maharashtra, there are different ways to reach the location. You can decide to travel via Mumbai or Pune, both rail and road available.Through Mumbai, it will take around 118 km to reach the Pawna Lake camp. It will take approximately 3 hours to arrive by road.
Distance:
The distance from Mumbai to Lonavala via train is around 100km. There are trains available every 60min. After reaching the station, you can rent a jeep to cover the rest of 20km -30km by road.
There is the option of buses from Mumbai and Lonavala from the bus stop, renting a cab to Pawna Lake.
Through Pune, it is about 65km that is the nearest to reach. The Kamshet way is the only option to Pawna Lake. There is a train every 45 min from Pune station to Kamshet Station. Rest distance is covered by road, so hire a jeep to Pawna Lake.

Lohagad fort
Lohagad fort is one of the hill forts of the state. It is at an altitude of 3390ft and connected to the nearby Visapur fort. According to legends, many wells were built by Pandavas which still have existence. Tourists can explore here and enjoy the beauty of Lohagad fort and Visapur fort.
Duhiware waterfall
Duhiware waterfall is near Pawna Lake and is at an altitude of 135ft. If you like thrilling experiences must visit here. The water looks like milk while flowing and exciting to watch.
Tung fort is at an altitude of 3527ft. It is a very challenging trek to reach the main fort. The path is very narrow throughout the mountain. The sharp and conical peak is what creates this fort incredible to see.

BEST TIME TO VISIT:
The location can be visited anytime but is most suitable from January to May. This time climate is best to stay and explore the lake. During monsoon, camping is avoided due to flood situations and the safety of visitors. It is open to the public from October through December.The lake, mountains, and other adjacent attractions can be enjoyed with family and friends as a break from the daily grind.
