 Places to visit near Rajmachi Trek

                                                 

Introduction:

Rajmachi is a historical fort located on Mumbai – Pune highway. The trek route to this fort is of moderate level. Nestled amidst lush green meadows, foggy mist the place is blessed with breathtaking views. The rajmachi trek route can either be started from Kondhane caves or Tungarli Lake. It is not advisable to trek during monsoon season as the trail is full of slippery rugged terrain and landslides. Fireflies are the main highlight of this fort. You can easily spot them during night time.

There are many shelter homes in the nearby vicinity where you can rest for a while. There are many food joints where you can erase your hunger. But if you have an extra day for traveling do visit katladhar Waterfall Trek which lies in the same region. You will be mesmerized by captivating views of the dense jungle that will lead its way to this cascading waterfall which resembles shining diamonds.So take a moment to admire mother nature’s beauty.

Tungarli Lake –

It is the most beautiful lake located on a hilltop in the heart of Lonavla. This is a renowned picnic spot which is known for camping and its paranomic views. It is usually visited in September – March. The serene beauty makes you fall in love with the place. One can see exotic views of Lonavla from the top of the summit. Tungarli Dam is located near the lake which irrigates the Rajmachi region. Vada Pao and cutting chai are the mouth-watering delicacies served near the lake site. This experience should not be missed upon. 

Ryewood Park –

Ryewood Park, earlier a botanical garden is now a public park. It is 2 km away from Lonavla. The park is surrounded by greenery, swings and a Shiva Temple is built within the park premises. It is a perfect place for the tourists as well as locals to relax yourself to sit on the clean benches around the trees in the fresh air. you can also visit the temple and spend some time there. 

Pawana Lake –

Pawana Lake is a reservoir in the Maharashtra state. Maharashtra is 25 kilometres away from the reservoir. It is one of the most beautiful men made lake. Nestled in the green valley around aerial hills, it offers spectacular scenic views.It is most popular from January to May and October to December. It is a perfect leisure retreat which is away from the crowded city of Mumbai but it is easily accessible to all the tourists. you can enjoy boating, swimming, and canoeing.

Bhushi Lake –

Bhushi Lake is 6 km away from Lonavla in Khandala. It is located far away from the hustle-bustle of city life. This is usually visited in October- February. It is a perfect place for nature enthusiasts and photography fiends. You can enjoy spectacular sightseeing. you will be delighted to see verdant hills, cascading waterfall around the forest area. however, doing camping is also not a bad idea. one can also have snacks from the nearby food stalls. 

Tiger’s leap –

one of the most visited tourist attraction is 8 km away from Lonavla. Delight your soul with the fantastic picturesque view of Tiger’s leap. you will be astonished by the shape of the summit it portrays a giant tiger entering into a lush green valley. It is a safe site for camping as well as rafting. There is a small waterfall near Tiger’s leap which flows during monsoon season. During this season the place is very crowded. The place can easily be accessed via trekking.

Kune Waterfall –

Kune Waterfalls is the 14th highest waterfall in India. It is centrally located within Lonavla. This is one of the gorgeous waterfalls that cascade from a height of 200 m. It is a perfect monsoon gateway where you not only enjoy the exotic views but it pre offers you many adventurous water sports. The entire view looks like a landscape. It is a blissful experience to go and visit such an ethereal beauty.
